We're looking for a business development person to help create, identify and pursue opportunities where our creative services can help businesses achieve their objectives.
You’ll have all the “works well independently and in a team” stuff and your enthusiasm, personality and proactive nature will set you apart.
Who are we?
Established in 1999, we are a creative agency who make brands more visible, memorable and, ultimately, more effective irrespective of channel or geography. There are over 50 of us working in central Glasgow with leading local, national and international organisations like the BBC, AIA, Gore-Tex, Johnstons of Elgin, Tennent’s Lager, Beam Suntory and British Council.
What’s the role?
You’ll join our business development team and be responsible for a range of tasks, some of which will be assigned to you and others you’ll have identified for yourself (you’re enthusiastic and proactive, remember), for example:
Building and maintaining database of potential client contacts
Contacting people on the above database by email, phone, in person or however’s most appropriate to introduce D8/stay in touch/generally be “on their radar”
Building an understanding of D8, our existing and potential clients and their industries to inform proactive and reactive business development activities
Liaison with internal account management, design and digital marketing teams to identify potential business development opportunities
Attending meetings, industry events, trade fairs etc to represent D8
What kind of person are we looking for?
This isn’t a pure sales role in the traditional sense - no sales funnels or “smashing it” required - we’re looking for someone who can supplement an already successful team and help bring opportunities for us to do more great work with more interesting people across the world.
Inquisitive, tenacious and ambitious (without being a pest), you’ll have good people skills, be adaptable, good at thinking on your feet and an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, including in face-to-face meetings and presentations.
Minimum 2 years’ experience of working in marketing, communications, design or digital sectors or similar, on either client or agency-side.
If your experience is in a business development role, great, if it’s not then tell us why that doesn’t matter.
Competitive salary based on experience plus a range of benefits including private health care, employee profit share, birthday and Christmas bonuses and regular employer donations to a charity of your choice.
Email [email protected] with your CV and a brief summary of why you’re suited to the role.
