February 2018 saw luxury cashmere brand Johnstons of Elgin steal the show with its first appearance at London Fashion Week. Having worked alongside the brand for several years we were excited to be involved with this significant milestone, bringing Scotland’s oldest family business to a global stage.
The invitation-only presentation showcased the latest collection from Johnstons of Elgin including 15 womenswear and 5 menswear looks. We designed the premium invitations for the event in house, creating a coat of arms-inspired crest specifically for the presentation which was printed in gold foil onto the invitations. The crest was also applied to plaques which dressed the entrance to the event which was held at the prestigious College in Holborn, central London.
The venue itself was dressed with Johnstons of Elgin’s branding and featured a large-scale inspiration wall highlighting each garment and its creation process.
Johnstons of Elgin’s Creative Director Alan Scott's inspiration for the collection was the company’s history in textiles, which he expressed in three looks; Scultural Simplicity, Athlux Edge and New Tradition. The collection was designed to showcase cashmere as the ultimate luxury material for combining modern and traditional looks.
The collection marks a new chapter for the brand as it brings its wealth of textile expertise into the luxury arena. Scott said “For us it is a big statement. It is a very important moment, and we are really hoping that people will be able to see the potential of the brand and that we can be a really strong benchmark for the British luxury industry. I thought it would be great for everyone to see the clothes up close so they could touch, feel and see the quality and the workmanship.”
