We recently delivered a new website for The Police Investigations & Review Commissioner (PIRC), which was set up in 2013 to independently investigate incidents involving Police Scotland and review the way it handles complaints from the public.
Openness and accountability underpin all PIRC activity and their website must reflect this by enabling members of the public to search for and access information easily.
We began by conducting in-depth user testing, which informed the structure and functionality of the new site.
Key components of the new site include a central hub for all documents where users can easily filter and search for content, and a bespoke form which makes it easy for users to apply for a review of a complaint online, including the ability to add attachments to their complaints.
The site’s turbo-powered search functionality features on key sections throughout site, letting users search across all content, including PDFs.
The new site build included a mega data migration project and a new intranet for the organisation.
Michael Tait, Head of Communications at PIRC said “I cannot commend enough the professionalism, creativity and dedication of the D8 team.”
