SPARK Festival 2019

We created the visual identity and all campaign assets to support the launch of the British Council's inaugural SPARK Festival in Hong Kong.

In January 2019 the British Council Hong Kong launched a brand new Festival of Ideas to offer a platform for cultural exchange between the UK and Hong Kong. With more than 30 events over three days, and bringing together 50 creative and education partners from the UK and Hong Kong, SPARK is a place for debate, inspiration, and visionary thinking.

The visual identity was inspired by the duality of science and art being reflected in the two sides of the brain. This theme of duality runs throughout the festival; from science and art, collaboration between the UK and Hong Kong, down to the dual language throughout the festival. To bring this to life we created a series of unexpected, curious and thought provoking images to engage and inspire the local audience.

We created video content to support the launch event, pre-event promotion including advertising and social assets, and event materials (programme, event branding). We also developed a festival App, from design through to build and launch, featuring interactive programme information, venue information, and links to booking.
