Indeglås

Indeglås provides architects, designers and construction companies with advanced industry knowledge and solutions to transfer maximum light through buildings.

Recent projects include the award-winning campuses of The Glasgow School of Art and City of Glasgow College. Until recently, Indeglås was known as DEKO Scotland Ltd. The main supplier, DEKO, based in Denmark, is one of the leading manufacturers of glazed screen in Europe.

The challenge

The catalyst for the name change was an exclusive distributor deal for DEKO products across the UK and Ireland. The name no longer accurately reflected the company’s geographical reach, or its services, which extend beyond DEKO systems into services such as consultancy. With the change of name came the demand for a full rebrand and new brand communications.

The solution

The final name we settled on was one of several options put forward that gave a nod to the company’s Danish roots and the crux of its business offering. Indeglås is a blend of two Danish words - inde and glås - meaning ‘inside’ and ‘glass’ respectively.

The brand font is Regular, designed by Dane Henrik Kubel. The logo hints at architectural plans, models and renders. We offset one of the spaces to follow the form of our unique ‘g’ shape and give us a logo that positions Indeglås as a solution for connecting or dividing interior spaces.

The colour palette takes inspiration from the Danish references we found at research and distinguishes Indeglås from the competition, who all use red.

Alongside creating a full stationery set, vehicle livery, a responsive digital presence and key pieces of material for the launch of the new company, we art directed and shot a new photo library and created feature typographical signposts on key business themes, which are based on the highlight technique used by architects when specifying glass – further differentiating Indeglås in a crowded market.

All of this was done with the new Indeglås website in mind but applying the new brand online was a small part of the story. We designed and built a bespoke Umbraco website capable of showcasing the company’s expertise and design solutions, which we did via a dynamic project function. The user interactions and animations have been designed to reflect the sliding movement of the glass partitions.

Results

Engaging the team at D8 has been such a positive experience. They brought creativity and innovation in abundance at the design stages and their experience provided valuable guidance taking account of our marketing strategy and brand identity going forward. We are particularly pleased with our new website which is easy to use, well structured and receiving extremely favourable feedback from our customers.
