Winter 2017 saw Johnstons of Elgin celebrate its 220th anniversary with the prestigious accolade for Commitment to British Manufacturing from the Walpole British Luxury Awards. Established in Elgin in 1797, Johnstons of Elgin pioneered cashmere and vicuña in the UK, first acclaimed with a medal for its “superb vicuña stoles” at the Great Exhibition of London in 1851.

Today, it leads the way in technical innovation, using state-of-the-art techniques and tools, such as Shima Seiki whole garment technology, digital knitting, ultra-fine jacquard weaving and 3D design, as well as traditional craftsmanship, to create fashion forward collections.
Spring Summer 2018 marks a step change for the family-owned company, with the introduction of its broadest and most cohesive home interiors, knitwear and accessories collections, allowing its designers and makers to showcase the breadth of the true creative and technical potential of Johnstons of Elgin. We art directed the photography of the collection and designed all of the collateral including look books and sales resources.
